Steeped in history, the establishment was built by the von Allmen-Gertsch family around 1870 as one of the first hotels in Mürren. In 1957, the three-star hotel was completely demolished, rebuilt and has since undergone modernisation. The traditional hotel cultivates genuine Alpine charm, emphasised by the appealing combination of old and new interior furnishings. In autumn 2019, The fourth generation of the proprietor family von Allmen sold the hotel to Schilthorn Cableway Ltd. in the context of a succession arrangement.
